AÏSSA AGAVE

Aïssa Agave is a rapper, writer, digital archivist, cyber dork and occasional troublemaker. Agave considers themselves a lifelong student of the internet who happens to be from Indiana. Born in Gary and raised in Indianapolis, they grew up navigating both physical and digital worlds. From MySpace layouts and IMVU avatars to graphic design, coding, journalism, playlist curation and cultural commentary, Agave developed an early fascination with identity, aesthetics, storytelling, and the ways people create meaning through art, technology, and self-expression.

Often rapping run-on sentences, their music exists somewhere between observation, vulnerability, humor, nostalgia and talking their shit. Refusing to be confined by genre, Agave pulls inspiration from underground rap, internet culture, hyperpop, neo-soul, Memphis rap, video games, television, and whatever sonic rabbit hole captures their attention next. Every release is approached as an experiment rather than a formula.

They make music for people who feel like they don't have a voice. For people with speech impediments. For nerdy people who want to pop their shit. For outsiders, overthinkers, creatives and the girls that just get it.

Outside of music, Agave has spent years documenting culture through writing, interviews, research, visual storytelling, and creative world-building. Their work lives at the intersection of music, fashion, technology, symbolism, travel, and digital culture: collecting fragments of experience and turning them into something worth remembering.

Part artist, part archivist, part observer, Aïssa Agave continues to build a living record of reinvention, curiosity, and self-discovery…one project, story and song at a time.
